Licenses, Permits and Affiliations in use for our Backcountry Therapy
The setting for the backcountry phase is in the following areas: the Colorado Rocky Mountains,
Arizona, New Mexico and South Dakota. The Monarch Center for Family Healing annually receives
permission and permits for these areas from the
United States Forest Service, the
Bureau of Land Management offices and the
National Park Service. This access affords us
the opportunity to explore hundreds of thousands of acres during our experiential and
educational pursuits.
A certified dietician has reviewed and approved the meals that the students eat, assuring proper nutrition.
A certified Wilderness First Responder and/or Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician is in the field at all times.
A licensed therapist oversees our Clinical Department; all of our therapists possess their Masters in either Social Work
or Counseling; and a psychiatrist oversees all medication-related issues.
